Making time to – Reflect – Recharge – Realign

Business Planning Day…argh!! As self-employed professionals will know, when we are busy this is something we don’t always prioritise and focus on as much as we need to – myself included!

Also juggling life is tough right 🀹? My job is about making a difference to others but often not doing the same for myself. If we aren’t careful though that overwhelm can creeps up on us and sometimes we find we don’t have the energy, tools or focus to manage it effectively.

But today, supported by my brilliant coach, mentor and friend Nicola Green from Nicola Green Consultancy (https://www.nicolagreenconsultancy.co.uk/), I made time for business planning…. and personal planning in the best possible place for me. On a Farm in the Dorset countryside 🏑It involved…

Reflecting πŸ’on another great year of being self-employed at PTP where I am really grateful to have worked with some incredible people – resolving issues, leading projects, supporting business leaders and making a difference.

Recharging ⚑ – After a summer of moving house, getting married and now having an extended family of 5 children, re-charging is a must! Reminding myself what things I need to do to be my best self, was really valuable. Fresh air, being active and having fun being key πŸ”‘

Realigning πŸ’‘- As my business moves into it’s 4th year, today was also a time for checking-in and making sure I am clear on the “why” behind what I do. Revisiting my values and making sure they are aligned to how I work, who I work with, what work I do and when I do it.

I came away with some commitments to myself and a clear plan, as well as feeling calmer, refreshed and re-energised. ⚑⚑

There aren’t many business planning days where you spend the day on a farm πŸ€πŸ„ – armed with tea β˜•, cake 🍰 and wellie bootsπŸ‘’ – where you get inspiration from woodland walks 🌳, sitting on logs by a lake and watching wildlife 🐦 in the sunβ˜€πŸŒž! Good for the soul without doubt.

Thank you Nicola! πŸ™πŸ»β€ Today was exactly what I needed. Highly recommended to anyone else finding themselves in my position – find time for this, it is well worth it⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My latest, refreshing, approach to business planning - starting with putting me at the centre. Not something I am good at doing!
